Maternity Photos: Feel Beautiful
Have you always wanted to have maternity photos done but you just don’t feel beautiful right now?
The one thing I LOVE about this career in photography is I get the chance to photograph beautiful maternity clients. Being pregnant is a huge achievement, you are making a baby in there! you! your body is amazing, lets show it off by capturing that gorgeous belly and show the world that you are an amazing human being. Maternity photos is an art form. You are naturally beautiful, however it’s about taking that photo from the most flattering angles and knowing how to use the right equipment that separates a good photographer from a cheap photographer.
Your maternity photos done in the comfort and privacy of my home studio, (while you are checking out where I am, feel free to check out the reviews) so you can be as covered or as artsy as you like with your photos. I love to photograph using what’s called “Backlit” where the yummy bright white light shines all around representing the gorgeous pregnancy glow. Look at Rachel, this is her 4th time being a mum… yes you heard me 4th! she has 3 boys and is having her 1st baby girl.
See that pregnancy glow coming through in her photo. Capturing her at this moment forever, she can show her daughter when she grows up and has her own babies how she looked, she can look at this photo and be reminded of how she felt. That’s another great thing about capturing this time in your life you are not only capturing a moment in time you are then able to look back on it and stir up emotions and remember what it was like being pregnant, having that baby move around inside your belly, remember feeling like you were going to wee every time they pushed down on that one spot haha. Also the feeling of utter exhaustion because lets not forget being pregnant means you are creating that tiny human and your body is getting a damn good workout in the process.

we all love the idea of having a little princess as a daughter, and I don’t mean the prissy I want everything princess. I mean the real princesses, the kind-hearted, selfless and giving beautiful souls they are. Having a token item that you want to bring to your session is OK, If you have a partner and/or child bring them in, lets capture that time with you as well.
Maternity photos is all about patiently waiting for their new arrival to come.
The other type of maternity photos I love to capture is on black… it’s flattering, timeless and a little bit sexy maternity photos.
The way the light hits the belly and gently caresses the face but eliminates all the usual negative comments we make about ourselves while pregnant “oh I don’t like my back, my bum is too big, I don’t like the look of my arms” pure, simple, beautiful….
