Baby Photos: When Your Baby Wants to Sit
Baby photos or sitter sessions are all about that! Capturing those oh so cute milestones. So this is at the age of around 6-9 months old before they are crawling but are oh so proud of themselves for sitting all on their own. This session only takes 45 minutes… So it’s quick, simple and painless… I usually try to get at least 2 set ups during this session, you will get a choice of what you love.
Little Doug here was so adorable at his baby photos or sitter session. The smiles and inquisitive mind is what I simply adore about these sessions.

Baby Photos: I honestly believe this is my favourite age.
During the baby photos some are quite weary of me and I require mum to come help me out or stay close by, some are so sociable that they just love playing it up for the camera. I also love capturing the candid moments as well. The moments when they just need a little break from looking at my face or hearing my noises and just be…. in the moment they are inspecting their surroundings and thinking hey what is this bucket I am sitting in? or hmm there’s a screw in the floor there, I wonder what that feels like. The sensory part, the moment when they realise hey this sitting up gig is pretty awesome, I can look around, I can grab things that are close to me or I can just sit here and be happy, life is pretty good…
The baby photo outfits I use are sourced from prop vendors, they aren’t your every day out fit that you see in the stores and they probably wouldn’t stand the test of every day wear however they are oh soooo cute… one of my favourite vendors for these gorgeous outfits is Sweetness and Co. Which is a gorgeous friend of mine who lives in Melbourne. I love supporting local businesses as much as I can.

Doug’s baby photos are a collection that are my favourite every photo is different, sometimes he is giving me the biggest smile, sometimes he is just looking at me like I’m the craziest lady he has ever met, then there are times when you capture a moment that is just so uniquely them, and the comments from mum ‘you captured his every essence, every expression and every detail’ I love hearing that.

I mean how cute is that!!
Sometimes mum’s will walk out of a baby photos session so disappointed and seeing their baby cry and think oh we didn’t get anything and I’m so disappointed but then I surprise them and make them feel better…. that is the best feeling… so don’t give up on me, don’t walk out and think you have wasted my time because a lot of the time you haven’t. Take Addison (above) for example her baby photos session we had to do over a couple of days. She came in did one set up, then the tears started. We attempted having a break, giving her some food but she didn’t want any more, she was done. So I called it the baby session was over… So we rescheduled for about a week later just in case it was teething or maybe they were just having a bad day. They come back and because it’s a slightly shorter session they can manage it a little better and are happy.
Look at this face…

I won’t ever push your baby to give me expressions, I like to make it quiet… yep…. you read that right… at first I like them to just feel comfortable in the space in the clothes and realize that I’m not going to make them do anything that makes them unsafe, as that’s what baby’s do, they are always assessing the risk, is this going to hurt me, am I going to be OK. All they want is to feel safe… then once they start to relax then all the silly noises start coming out of this crazy lady and they think… hey she might actually be funny…
While working with you on which colours you would like I also have a range of rompers available, If you check out the baby gallery on my website, you can see what some are on offer. I have many outfits that suit every taste and am always looking for new rompers to add to my every increasing collection.
